Everything got a lot livelier if these mod Scottish dance-whore boys showed up, cutting tighter trousers and affected catchier tunes than any bandage out there. The Franz lads declared their mission was authoritative "music for girls to ball to," with agitated guitar anxiety and a disco faculty of action in hits like "Take Me Out," "Michael" and "Darts of Pleasure." Alex Kapranos' vocals are abounding of smeared-mascara goth sex as he sighs analeptic curve like "I can feel your aperture denude my eyes." Kanye West alleged them "white crunk music," Lil Wayne covered "This Fire" and the bandage still gets girls dancing.
